Borophene ceramic coating and Liquid PPF for boats

Keys sun and salt strip wax in a few months. Dapper Marine now offers NanoPro Borophene, a one-layer ceramic coating, and NanoPro Liquid PPF, a protective film that goes on as a liquid.

Both are made for professional application only. The result is a deeper gloss, water that beads and sheets off, and a finish that's easier to keep clean.

Ceramic coating

NanoPro Borophene ceramic coating

Borophene is NanoPro's top line of ceramic coating. NanoPro calls it the industry's first permanent ceramic coating at a single layer, and says it needs no topper coats, only decontamination washes.

  • One layer. NanoPro says one coat does the job, where many coatings need several.
  • Gloss. NanoPro reports a 40% higher gloss index than graphene coatings.
  • Hydrophobic. Water beads up and runs off, taking salt and dirt with it.
  • Pro-only. NanoPro sells Borophene to approved installers, not over the counter.

Paint protection film

NanoPro Liquid PPF (LPF Accelerate)

Traditional paint protection film is a sheet of polyurethane that has to be cut, stretched and wrapped. NanoPro's Liquid PPF goes on as a liquid and cures into a solid film.

  • A flexible polyurethane and acrylic film, in NanoPro's words with higher tensile strength than traditional film
  • No plotters, cutting or seams, so it follows curves and edges
  • Can be paired with Borophene ceramic coating, according to NanoPro
  • Available only through NanoPro-certified detailers

How we apply it

Prep first, then protection

A coating locks in whatever is underneath it, good or bad, so the work starts with the finish.

  • Wash and decontaminate the surface
  • Correct oxidation and swirls with compound and polish
  • Wipe down so the coating bonds to clean gelcoat
  • Apply Borophene and, where you want it, Liquid PPF
  • Walk you through washing and care afterward

Hull dull or chalky now? See oxidation removal, the first step for most coatings.

FAQ

Common questions

Can a ceramic coating go on a boat?

Yes. Ceramic coatings are widely used on boats to protect gelcoat and painted surfaces from UV and salt. We'll look at your boat and tell you which surfaces we'd coat.

Does the hull need to be polished first?

Yes. A coating locks in whatever is underneath, so oxidation and swirls are corrected first. That prep is part of the quote.

How long does Borophene last?

NanoPro markets Borophene as a permanent coating at one layer, maintained with decontamination washes rather than toppers. How long it lasts on your boat depends on prep, use and care, and we'll go over that with you.

What is Liquid PPF?

NanoPro describes its Liquid PPF (LPF) as a flexible polyurethane and acrylic film applied as a liquid that cures into a solid protective film. There's no cutting or wrapping, so it follows curves and edges.

Ceramic coating or Liquid PPF: which do I need?

Ceramic coating is about gloss, UV protection and easy cleaning. Liquid PPF adds a thicker, flexible layer for areas that take abuse. NanoPro says the two can be used together.

How much does it cost?

It depends on the size of the boat, which surfaces are coated and how much correction the finish needs first. Call or text 305-852-8335 for a quote.
